What Does ‘One-Trip’ Mean?

ADAPT

SPACE
.

If you’re buying a new shipping container, you’ve probably come across the term “One-Trip”. But what does it actually mean?

Simply put, a One-Trip container has only made one cargo journey from the factory where it was built to its destination. Although they’re commonly referred to as new, they aren’t technically brand new.

Why Is It Called a One-Trip Container?

Most One-Trip containers are manufactured in China before being loaded with cargo and shipped overseas. Once they arrive in the UK, they’re emptied and made available for sale.

That single journey is where the name comes from.

Are One-Trip Containers Really New?

Because they’ve completed one sea voyage, it’s perfectly normal for a One-Trip container to have a few minor scuffs or scratches from handling during transport.

However, the structure, doors, floor and overall condition are still considered to be as close to new as you can buy.

The Dainton Difference

At Dainton Portable Buildings, we don’t simply deliver our One-Trip containers exactly as they arrive.

Before they leave our depot, our team carefully inspects each container and touches up any minor scuffs or marks with colour-matched paint, helping ensure it looks its best when it arrives with you.

It’s a small detail, but one that reflects the pride we take in every container we supply.

In this short video, Summer explains what a One-Trip container is, why it isn’t technically brand new, and how our team prepares every container before it leaves Dainton.
