When you need a much wider load area, a 40ft open side shipping container might be the solution. Available in both standard height and high cube, they feature doors along the 40ft side and at one end, giving you full side access. Typically this type of container may be used where you require forklift access or unobstructed access across the side opening.
- Specifications are otherwise identical to a standard container with Corten steel walls, marine ply floor and double locking doors.
- These are specialist bits of kit and can be hard to track down so please ask about availability.

Our Open Top containers are ideal where cargo is to be crane loaded from above or where normal door openings make access impossible. Available with hard or soft top options with a tarpaulin cover and roof bows these containers have an internal height of 2.25m and come in standard 40ft size.
With standard double doors, most now include a removable header bar above the doors to allow over height or fork-lift access.
Primarily a cargo unit, they are not recommended for long-term storage uses. Floor depth is typically greater for an open top container where additional strengthening in the base is required. This varies according to producer so please do check with us before ordering.
