PORTABLE BUILDINGS SALES ADMINISTRATOR – St Austell

Dainton Portable Buildings is part of the Dainton Group which is currently made up of 17 facilities across England and Wales with plans for additional sites in 2021.

The Dainton Portable Buildings Division has experienced exceptional growth over the past four years and is looking to recruit a dedicated sales person to look after the Cornish market.

We specialise in shipping containers and portable accommodation, both new and second hand for hire and sale. This includes on site shipping containers for storage, site cabins and welfare units, portable office installations, toilets and showers, shipping container conversions, bespoke designed client driven accommodation solutions, modular buildings and transport.

We have an existing foothold in Cornwall and an excellent local reputation. To further develop the Cornish operation we are now looking to recruit a talented sales professional to take our business to the next level. The main aim of the successful applicant is to grow our business and maximise the potential we believe is available. The successful applicant should have a desire to succeed, be good at working on their own initiative, have strong sales and negotiation skills, have a keen customer focus, excellent organisation and administration skills, be happy to turn your hand to new challenges, be a good problem solver, is practical and prepared to go the extra mile to succeed. In return you will be given the support, training, financial remuneration and to be part of a company looking to continue its ambitious growth plans.

Located in St Austell, within Dainton Business Park, ideally you will live within 30 minutes of the Depot and have a full clean driving licence.

A fork lift licence would be preferable however training can be provided.

Previous sales experience from within this current market would be advantageous but not essential as training can be provided

The role is both challenging and rewarding. You will be given, with the support of the General Manager, the autonomy to grow the business and take day to day responsibility for it. Working hours are 8.00 am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday and you will receive a basic pay of £20K plus commission, with a realistic OTE of £30K.

The Role

  • Handling of telephone enquiries
  • Drive sales and hire revenue
  • To record enquiries and source of enquiries using CRM software
  • Compile reports on a weekly and monthly basis
  • To follow up response of quotations and tenders sent
  • To produce hire/sale contracts, quotations and any other correspondence necessary
  • Negotiation with suppliers to obtain best rates
  • Generate new enquiries and new clients
  • Loading and unloading of lorries using large forklift
  • Maintaining high levels of Health and Safety best practice
  • Reporting daily to the General Manager
  • Ensuring high standards of both stock and site presentation
  • Meeting clients on site to discuss requirements
  • Sourcing used portable buildings for resale

The Person

  • Strong sales focus both on the phone and face to face
  • Accustomed to working to targets and KPIs
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and be self-motivated
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to negotiate effectively
  • Account management and new business generation experience
  • Computer literate, in particular the use of Microsoft Office packages
  • High level of organisational ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The drive and determination to both sustain and grow our existing business within Cornwall
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers
  • An understanding of marketing
  • Experience working in the portable and modular building sector is preferred, although a similar sales background will also be considered

The Reward

  • In return for your hard work and commitment you will be rewarded with a salary of £20,000 per year + commission.

SELF STORAGE ASSISTANT – Gloucester

The Role

  • The Self Storage Assistant’s role is approximately 35% office based, on-boarding new clients, managing your existing client base and undertaking activities to seek new clients.
  • You will be given the operational autonomy, backed by the Depot Manager, to grow and develop the site to achieve ambitious, yet realistic targets and goals through the provision of first-class customer service.
  • We expect our sites to look great which means that the remaining time will be dedicated to the up-keep and maintenance of the site.
  • Promote Dainton Self-Storage in your local community, building relationships with key client groups
  • Maintain a safe working environment, in line with Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Deliver results by contributing to profitability and sales turnover.
  • To directly communicate with Depot Managers as appropriate
  • To promote and ensure effective account management.
  • You will be required to work from 9.00am to 4.00pm Saturday, 10.00am to 4.00pm Sunday, week day cover will be required to cover holidays and absence to the needs of the business.

The Person

  • Our Assistants come from a wide range of employment backgrounds but all have the ability to use their own initiative often working unsupervised and most importantly a desire to succeed
  • You will have excellent customer service skills, communicating effectively on the phone and face to face.
  • Basic computer literacy, where training will be provided on our in-house systems
  • A willingness to undertake light physical work is important to maintain your depot
  • Ability to achieve realistic targets and goals
  • Problem solving skills
  • Able to communicate effectively and report to all levels
  • You will preferably live within 20 minutes travelling time of the site, to provide call out cover and hold a full driving license.

The Reward

  • In return for your hard work and commitment you will be rewarded with a salary of £8.88 per hour.

DEPOT MANAGER – Bristol

The Role

  • The Depot Manager’s role is approximately 50% office based, on-boarding new clients, managing your existing client base and undertaking marketing activities to seek new clients.
  • You will be given the operational autonomy, backed by the Area Manager, to grow and develop the site to achieve ambitious, yet realistic targets and goals through the provision of first-class customer service.

We expect our sites to look great which means that time will be dedicated to the up-keep and maintenance of the site.

  • Promote Dainton Self-Storage in your local community, building relationships with key client groups
  • Maintain a safe working environment, in line with Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Deliver results by contributing to profitability and sales turnover.
  • To directly communicate with Area Managers as appropriate
  • To promote and ensure effective account management.
  • You will be required to work from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, weekend cover will be required to cover holidays and absence to the needs of the business.
  • Bristol is an established and successful depot that requires a strong sales approach for the site to continue to grow.
