Devon Fire & Rescue Services' Training Units

The Requirements

Kenex Engineering have over 50 years experience in the steel industry and specialise in producing all types of steelwork, from access and support structures to waste handling equipment and engineering structures for training systems and simulations. When Kenex Engineering needed shipping containers for a new multi-function training unit for Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service at Exeter Airport, Kenex knew they could rely on dainton to deliver quality containers at good value and on time.

The Solution

Kenex Engineering designed and built the new large scale multi-function fire behaviour training unit at their Exeter facility. The training unit was made from eleven new standard 40ft x 8ft containers and four new 20ft x 8ft containers that were supplied by dainton. The shipping containers were delivered to Kenex Engineering and later transported to Exeter Airport, where the training unit was reassembled so it could be used to provide specialist fire fighting training.
